Rabbana Duas

Dua #1

رَبَّنَا آتِنَا فِي الدُّنْيَا حَسَنَةً وَفِي الآخِرَةِ حَسَنَةً وَقِنَا عَذَابَ النَّارِ

Transliteration: Rabbana atina fi dunya hasanatan wa fil akhirati hasanatan wa qina ‘adhaban-nar

Translation: Our Lord, give us good in this world and good in the Hereafter, and save us from the torment of the Fire.

Benefit: Asking for worldly and hereafter blessings and protection from hellfire. [Quran 2:201]

Dua #2

رَبَّنَا لَا تُزِغْ قُلُوبَنَا بَعْدَ إِذْ هَدَيْتَنَا وَهَبْ لَنَا مِن لَّدُنكَ رَحْمَةً إِنَّكَ أَنتَ الْوَهَّابُ

Transliteration: Rabbana la tuzigh quloobana ba’da idh hadaytana wahab lana min ladunka rahmatan innaka anta al-Wahhab

Translation: Our Lord, do not deviate our hearts after You have guided us, and grant us mercy from You; indeed, You are the Bestower.

Benefit: Seeking steadfastness on guidance and mercy from Allah. [Quran 3:8]

Dua #3

رَبَّنَا ظَلَمْنَا أَنفُسَنَا وَإِن لَّمْ تَغْفِرْ لَنَا وَتَرْحَمْنَا لَنَكُونَنَّ مِنَ الْخَاسِرِينَ

Transliteration: Rabbana zalamna anfusana wa illam taghfir lana wa tarhamna lanakoonanna min al-khasireen

Translation: Our Lord, we have wronged ourselves, and if You do not forgive us and have mercy upon us, we will surely be among the losers.

Benefit: Seeking forgiveness and mercy to avoid being among the losers. [Quran 7:23]

Dua #4

رَبَّنَا أَفْرِغْ عَلَيْنَا صَبْرًا وَثَبِّتْ أَقْدَامَنَا وَانصُرْنَا عَلَى الْقَوْمِ الْكَافِرِينَ

Transliteration: Rabbana afrigh ‘alayna sabran wa thabbit aqdamana wa ansurna ‘ala al-qawmi al-kafireen

Translation: Our Lord, pour upon us patience and plant firmly our feet and give us victory over the disbelieving people.

Benefit: Asking for patience, steadfastness, and victory over non-believers. [Quran 2:250]

Dua #5

رَبَّنَا لَا تُحَمِّلْنَا مَا لَا طَاقَةَ لَنَا بِهِ وَاعْفُ عَنَّا وَاغْفِرْ لَنَا وَارْحَمْنَا أَنتَ مَوْلَانَا فَانصُرْنَا عَلَى الْقَوْمِ الْكَافِرِينَ

Transliteration: Rabbana la tuhammilna ma la taqata lana bihi wa’fu ‘anna waghfir lana warhamna anta mawlana fansurna ‘ala al-qawmi al-kafireen

Translation: Our Lord, do not impose on us a burden we have not the strength to bear. And pardon us; and forgive us; and have mercy on us. You are our protector, so give us victory over the disbelieving people.

Benefit: Seeking relief from burdens, forgiveness, mercy, and victory over adversaries with Allah as the protector. [Quran 2:286]

Dua #6

رَبَّنَا آمَنَّا فَاغْفِرْ لَنَا ذُنُوبَنَا وَقِنَا عَذَابَ النَّارِ

Transliteration: Rabbana amanna faghfir lana dhunubana wa qina ‘adhaban-nar

Translation: Our Lord, we have believed, so forgive us our sins and protect us from the punishment of the Fire.

Benefit: Expressing belief in Allah and asking for forgiveness and protection from the Hellfire. [Quran 3:16]

Dua #7

رَبَّنَا آمَنَّا بِمَا أَنزَلْتَ وَاتَّبَعْنَا الرَّسُولَ فَاكْتُبْنَا مَعَ الشَّاهِدِينَ

Transliteration: Rabbana amanna bima anzalta wattaba’na arrasoola faktubna ma’a ash-shahideen

Translation: Our Lord, we have believed in what You have sent down and followed the messenger, so register us among the witnesses [to truth].

Benefit: Declaration of faith in Allah’s revelation and the messenger, asking to be counted among the witnesses of truth. [Quran 3:53]

Dua #8

رَبَّنَا اغْفِرْ لَنَا ذُنُوبَنَا وَإِسْرَافَنَا فِي أَمْرِنَا وَثَبِّتْ أَقْدَامَنَا وَانصُرْنَا عَلَى الْقَوْمِ الْكَافِرِينَ

Transliteration: Rabbana ighfir lana dhunubana wa israfana fi amrina wa thabbit aqdamana wa ansurna ‘ala al-qawmi alkafireen

Translation: Our Lord, forgive us our sins and our excesses in our affairs, and plant firmly our feet and give us victory over the disbelieving people.

Benefit: Asking for forgiveness for sins and excesses, steadfastness, and victory over disbelievers. [Quran 3:147]

Dua #9

رَبَّنَا مَا خَلَقْتَ هَـذَا بَاطِلًا سُبْحَانَكَ فَقِنَا عَذَابَ النَّارِ

Transliteration: Rabbana ma khalaqta hadha batilan Subhanaka faqina ‘adhaban-nar

Translation: Our Lord, You have not created this aimlessly; exalted are You [above such a thing]; so protect us from the punishment of the Fire.

Benefit: Recognizing the purposefulness of creation and asking for protection from Hellfire. [Quran 3:191]

Dua #10

رَبَّنَا إِنَّكَ مَن تُدْخِلِ النَّارَ فَقَدْ أَخْزَيْتَهُ وَمَا لِلظَّالِمِينَ مِنْ أَنصَارٍ

Transliteration: Rabbana innaka man tudkhilin-nara faqad akhzaytahu wama lildhalimeena min ansar

Translation: Our Lord, indeed whoever You admit to the Fire, You have disgraced him, and for the wrongdoers, there are no helpers.

Benefit: Acknowledging the disgrace of being admitted to Hell and the absence of help for wrongdoers. [Quran 3:192]

Dua #11

رَبَّنَا إِنَّنَا سَمِعْنَا مُنَادِيًا يُنَادِي لِلْإِيمَانِ أَنْ آمِنُوا بِرَبِّكُمْ فَآمَنَّا

Transliteration: Rabbana innana sami’na munadiyan yunadi lil-imani an aminu bi-Rabbikum fa’amanna

Translation: Our Lord, indeed we have heard a caller calling to faith, saying, ‘Believe in your Lord,’ so we have believed.

Benefit: Declaration of faith in response to the call to believe in Allah. [Quran 3:193]

Dua #12

رَبَّنَا فَاغْفِرْ لَنَا ذُنُوبَنَا وَكَفِّرْ عَنَّا سَيِّئَاتِنَا وَتَوَفَّنَا مَعَ الْأَبْرَارِ

Transliteration: Rabbana faghfir lana dhunubana wa kaffir ‘anna sayyiatina wa tawaffana ma’al abrar

Translation: Our Lord, forgive us our sins and remove from us our misdeeds and cause us to die with the righteous.

Benefit: Asking for forgiveness, removal of sins, and to be among the righteous at death. [Quran 3:193]

Dua #13

رَبَّنَا وَآتِنَا مَا وَعَدتَّنَا عَلَى رُسُلِكَ وَلَا تُخْزِنَا يَوْمَ الْقِيَامَةِ إِنَّكَ لَا تُخْلِفُ الْمِيعَادَ

Transliteration: Rabbana wa atina ma wa’adtana ‘ala rusulika wa la tukhzina yawma al-qiyamati innaka la tukhlifu al-mi’ad

Translation: Our Lord, give us what You promised us through Your messengers and do not disgrace us on the Day of Resurrection. Indeed, You do not break the promise.

Benefit: Asking for the fulfillment of promises made by Allah through His messengers and not to be disgraced on Judgment Day. [Quran 3:194]

Dua #14

رَبَّنَا وَلاَ تَحْمِلْ عَلَيْنَا إِصْرًا كَمَا حَمَلْتَهُ عَلَى الَّذِينَ مِن قَبْلِنَا

Transliteration: Rabbana wala tahmil alayna isran kama hamaltahu ‘ala allatheena min qablina

Translation: Our Lord, do not impose upon us a burden like that which You imposed upon those before us.

Benefit: Requesting that Allah not place a burden on us as He did on those before us. [Quran 2:286]

Dua #15

رَبَّنَا وَلاَ تُحَمِّلْنَا مَا لاَ طَاقَةَ لَنَا بِهِ وَاعْفُ عَنَّا وَاغْفِرْ لَنَا وَارْحَمْنَا أَنتَ مَوْلَانَا فَانصُرْنَا عَلَى الْقَوْمِ الْكَافِرِينَ

Transliteration: Rabbana wala tuhammilna ma la taqata lana bihi wa’fu ‘anna waghfir lana warhamna anta mawlana fansurna ‘ala al-qawmi al-kafireen

Translation: Our Lord, do not burden us beyond what we have strength to bear. And pardon us and forgive us and have mercy on us. You are our protector, so give us victory over the disbelieving people.

Benefit: Seeking Allah’s mercy for forgiveness, not to be overburdened, and victory over disbelievers. [Quran 2:286]

Dua #16

Dua #17

رَبَّنَا فَتَحْ بَيْنَنَا وَبَيْنَ قَوْمِنَا بِالْحَقِّ وَأَنتَ خَيْرُ الْفَاتِحِينَ

Transliteration: Rabbana fath baynana wa bayna qawmina bil haqqi wa anta khayrul fatiheen

Translation: Our Lord, decide between us and our people in truth, and You are the best of those who give decision.

Benefit: Asking Allah to judge justly between the believers and their people. [Quran 7:89]

Dua #18

رَبَّنَا أَفْرِغْ عَلَيْنَا صَبْرًا وَثَبِّتْ أَقْدَامَنَا وَانصُرْنَا عَلَى الْقَوْمِ الْكَافِرِينَ

Transliteration: Rabbana afrigh ‘alayna sabran wa thabbit aqdamana wa ansurna ‘ala al-qawmi al-kafireen

Translation: Our Lord, pour upon us patience and make firm our steps and assist us against the disbelieving people.

Benefit: Asking for patience, firmness, and assistance against those who do not believe. [Quran 2:250]

Dua #19

رَبَّنَا لَا تَجْعَلْنَا فِتْنَةً لِّلَّذِينَ كَفَرُوا وَاغْفِرْ لَنَا رَبَّنَا ۖ إِنَّكَ أَنتَ الْعَزِيزُ الْحَكِيمُ

Transliteration: Rabbana la taj’alna fitnatan lillatheena kafaru waghfir lana rabbana innaka anta al-‘Aziz al-Hakim

Translation: Our Lord, do not make us a trial for those who disbelieve, and forgive us, our Lord. Indeed, You are the Exalted in Might, the Wise.

Benefit: Requesting not to be a trial for disbelievers and asking for forgiveness from the Almighty. [Quran 60:5]

Dua #20

رَبَّنَا تَقَبَّلْ مِنَّا إِنَّكَ أَنتَ السَّمِيعُ الْعَلِيمُ

Transliteration: Rabbana taqabbal minna innaka antas Samee’ul Aleem

Translation: Our Lord, accept [this] from us. Indeed You are the Hearing, the Knowing.

Benefit: Seeking acceptance of deeds, acknowledging Allah’s omniscience and omnipresence. [Quran 2:127]

Dua #21

رَبَّنَا وَاجْعَلْنَا مُسْلِمَيْنِ لَكَ وَمِن ذُرِّيَّتِنَا أُمَّةً مُّسْلِمَةً لَّكَ وَأَرِنَا مَنَاسِكَنَا وَتُبْ عَلَيْنَا إِنَّكَ أَنتَ التَّوَّابُ الرَّحِيمُ

Transliteration: Rabbana waj’alna muslimayni laka wa min dhurriyyatina ummatan muslimatan laka wa arina manasikana wa tub ‘alayna innaka antat Tawwabur Rahim

Translation: Our Lord, make us Muslims [in submission] to You and from our descendants a Muslim nation [in submission] to You. And show us our rites and accept our repentance. Indeed, You are the Accepting of repentance, the Merciful.

Benefit: Asking to be made subservient to Allah, for guidance on rituals, and for acceptance of repentance. [Quran 2:128]

Dua #22

رَبَّنَا وَابْعَثْ فِيهِمْ رَسُولًا مِّنْهُمْ يَتْلُو عَلَيْهِمْ آيَاتِكَ وَيُعَلِّمُهُمُ الْكِتَابَ وَالْحِكْمَةَ وَيُزَكِّيهِمْ إِنَّكَ أَنتَ الْعَزِيزُ الْحَكِيمُ

Transliteration: Rabbana wa’ba’th feehim rasoolan minhum yatlu ‘alayhim ayatika wayu’allimuhum al-kitaba wal-hikmata wayuzakkihim innaka antal ‘Azeezul Hakim

Translation: Our Lord, and send among them a messenger from themselves who will recite to them Your verses and teach them the Book and wisdom and purify them. Indeed, You are the Exalted in Might, the Wise.

Benefit: Asking Allah to send a messenger from among themselves to guide them. [Quran 2:129]

Dua #23

رَبَّنَا وَآتِنَا مَا وَعَدتَّنَا عَلَى رُسُلِكَ وَلَا تُخْزِنَا يَوْمَ الْقِيَامَةِ إِنَّكَ لَا تُخْلِفُ الْمِيعَادَ

Transliteration: Rabbana wa atina ma wa’adtana ‘ala rusulika wa la tukhzina yawmal qiyamati innaka la tukhliful mi’ad

Translation: Our Lord, grant us what You promised us through Your messengers and do not disgrace us on the Day of Resurrection. Indeed, You never fail in Your promise.

Benefit: Asking for the fulfillment of Allah’s promises and protection from disgrace on the Day of Judgment. [Quran 3:194]

Dua #24

رَبَّنَا آمَنَّا فَاكْتُبْنَا مَعَ الشَّاهِدِينَ

Transliteration: Rabbana amanna faktubna ma’a ash-shahideen

Translation: Our Lord, we have believed, so register us among the witnesses.

Benefit: Profession of faith and a request to be included among those who bear witness to Allah’s truth. [Quran 3:53]

Dua #25

Transliteration: Rabbana amanna faghfir lana warhamna wa anta khayru al-rahimeen

Translation: Our Lord, we have believed, so forgive us and have mercy upon us, and You are the best of the merciful.

Benefit: Expressing belief and asking for forgiveness and mercy from the best of those who show mercy. [Quran 7:155]

Dua #27

رَبَّنَا اصْرِفْ عَنَّا عَذَابَ جَهَنَّمَ إِنَّ عَذَابَهَا كَانَ غَرَامًا

Transliteration: Rabbana isrif ‘anna ‘adhaba jahannama inna ‘adhabaha kana gharama

Translation: Our Lord, avert from us the punishment of Hell. Indeed, its punishment is ever adhering;

Benefit: Asking Allah to protect from the enduring punishment of Hell. [Quran 25:65]

Dua #28

رَبَّنَا وَهَبْ لَنَا مِنْ أَزْوَاجِنَا وَذُرِّيَّاتِنَا قُرَّةَ أَعْيُنٍ وَاجْعَلْنَا لِلْمُتَّقِينَ إِمَامًا

Transliteration: Rabbana wahab lana min azwajina wa dhurriyyatina qurrata a’yunin waj’alna lil-muttaqina imama

Translation: Our Lord, grant us from our wives and offspring comfort to our eyes and make us an example for the righteous.

Benefit: Asking for a righteous family that brings joy and to be made leaders for the righteous. [Quran 25:74]

Dua #29

رَبَّنَا اغْفِرْ لِي وَلِوَالِدَيَّ وَلِلْمُؤْمِنِينَ يَوْمَ يَقُومُ الْحِسَابُ

Transliteration: Rabbana ighfir li waliwalidayya walil-mu’mineena yawma yaqoomu al-hisab

Translation: Our Lord, forgive me, my parents, and the believers on the day the account is established.

Benefit: Seeking forgiveness for oneself, one’s parents, and all believers on the Day of Judgment. [Quran 14:41]

Dua #30

رَبَّنَا عَلَيْكَ تَوَكَّلْنَا وَإِلَيْكَ أَنَبْنَا وَإِلَيْكَ الْمَصِيرُ

Transliteration: Rabbana ‘alayka tawakkalna wa-ilayka anabna wa-ilayka al-masir

Translation: Our Lord, upon You we have relied, and to You we have returned, and to You is the destination.

Benefit: Declaring total reliance on Allah, returning to Him in repentance, and acknowledging Him as the ultimate return. [Quran 60:4]

Dua #31

رَبَّنَا لَا تُؤَاخِذْنَا إِن نَّسِينَا أَوْ أَخْطَأْنَا

Transliteration: Rabbana la tu’akhidhna in naseena aw akhta’na

Translation: Our Lord, do not impose blame upon us if we have forgotten or made a mistake.

Benefit: Asking for Allah’s forgiveness for mistakes made in forgetfulness or error. [Quran 2:286]

Dua #32

رَبَّنَا وَلَا تَحْمِلْ عَلَيْنَا إِصْرًا كَمَا حَمَلْتَهُ عَلَى الَّذِينَ مِن قَبْلِنَا

Transliteration: Rabbana wala tahmil alayna isran kama hamaltahu ‘ala allatheena min qablina

Translation: Our Lord, and do not lay upon us a burden like that which You laid upon those before us.

Benefit: Requesting that Allah not place burdens on us as He did on previous generations. [Quran 2:286]

Dua #33

رَبَّنَا وَلَا تُحَمِّلْنَا مَا لَا طَاقَةَ لَنَا بِهِ

Transliteration: Rabbana wala tuhammilna ma la taqata lana bih.

Translation: Our Lord, and do not burden us with that which we have no ability to bear.

Benefit: Seeking relief from burdens that are beyond one’s capacity to bear. [Quran 2:286]

Dua #34

رَبَّنَا اغْفِرْ لَنَا وَلِإِخْوَانِنَا الَّذِينَ سَبَقُونَا بِالْإِيمَانِ وَلَا تَجْعَلْ فِي قُلُوبِنَا غِلًّا لِّلَّذِينَ آمَنُوا

Transliteration: Rabbana ighfir lana wali-ikhwanina allatheena sabiqoona bil-imani wala taj’al fee quloobina ghillan lillatheena amanoo.

Translation: Our Lord, forgive us and our brothers who preceded us in faith and do not put in our hearts any resentment toward those who have believed.

Benefit: Asking for forgiveness for oneself and for those who have believed before us, and for purity of heart towards fellow believers. [Quran 59:10]

Dua #35

رَبَّنَا إِنَّكَ جَامِعُ النَّاسِ لِيَوْمٍ لَّا رَيْبَ فِيهِ إِنَّ اللَّهَ لَا يُخْلِفُ الْمِيعَادَ

Transliteration: Rabbana innaka jami’u alnnasi liyawmin la rayba feehi inna Allaha la yukhlifu almee’ad.

Translation: Our Lord, indeed You will gather the people for a day about which there is no doubt. Indeed, Allah does not fail in His promise.

Benefit: Acknowledging Allah’s promise to gather mankind for the Day of Judgment, a day about which there is no doubt. [Quran 3:9]

Dua #36

رَبَّنَا آمَنَّا بِمَا أَنزَلْتَ وَاتَّبَعْنَا الرَّسُولَ فَاكْتُبْنَا مَعَ الشَّاهِدِينَ

Transliteration: Rabbana amanna bima anzalta wattaba’na arrasoola faktubna ma’a ash-shahideen.

Translation: Our Lord, we have believed in what You have sent down and have followed the messenger, so register us among the witnesses [of truth].

Benefit: Professing belief in Allah’s revelations and the messenger, and asking to be counted among the witnesses of truth. [Quran 3:53]

Dua #37

رَبَّنَا اغْفِرْ لَنَا ذُنُوبَنَا وَإِسْرَافَنَا فِي أَمْرِنَا وَثَبِّتْ أَقْدَامَنَا وَانصُرْنَا عَلَى الْقَوْمِ الْكَافِرِينَ

Translation: Our Lord, forgive us our sins and the excess [committed] in our affairs and plant firmly our feet and give us victory over the disbelieving people.

Benefit: Seeking forgiveness, moderation in actions, steadfastness, and victory over disbelievers. [Quran 3:147]

Dua #38

رَبَّنَا مَا خَلَقْتَ هَٰذَا بَاطِلًا سُبْحَانَكَ فَقِنَا عَذَابَ النَّارِ

Transliteration: Rabbana ma khalaqta hadha batilan Subhanaka faqina ‘adhaban-nar.

Translation: Our Lord, You have not created this aimlessly; Exalted are You [above such a thing], so protect us from the punishment of the Fire.

Benefit: Recognizing the purpose and majesty of Allah’s creation and asking for protection from Hellfire. [Quran 3:191]

Dua #39

رَبَّنَا إِنَّكَ مَن تُدْخِلِ النَّارَ فَقَدْ أَخْزَيْتَهُ ۖ وَمَا لِلظَّالِمِينَ مِنْ أَنصَارٍ

Transliteration: Rabbana innaka man tudkhilin-nara faqad akhzaytahu wama lildhalimeena min ansar.

Translation: Our Lord, indeed whoever You admit to the Fire, You have disgraced him, and for the wrongdoers, there are no helpers.

Benefit: Reflecting on the disgrace of those admitted to Hell and the lack of support for wrongdoers. [Quran 3:192]

Dua #40

رَبَّنَا إِنَّنَا سَمِعْنَا مُنَادِيًا يُنَادِي لِلْإِيمَانِ أَنْ آمِنُوا بِرَبِّكُمْ فَآمَنَّا ۚ رَبَّنَا فَاغْفِرْ لَنَا ذُنُوبَنَا وَكَفِّرْ عَنَّا سَيِّئَاتِنَا وَتَوَفَّنَا مَعَ الْأَبْرَارِ

Transliteration: Rabbana innana sami’na munadiyan yunadi lil-imani an aminoo bi-Rabbikum fa-amanna. Rabbana faghfir lana dhunubana wa kaffir ‘anna sayyi’atina wa tawaffana ma’al abrar.

Translation: Our Lord, indeed we have heard a caller calling to faith, saying, ‘Believe in your Lord,’ and we have believed. Our Lord, so forgive us our sins and remove from us our misdeeds and cause us to die with the righteous.

Benefit: Response to the call of faith, asking for forgiveness, the erasure of sins, and to be among the righteous at death. [Quran 3:193]
